Very nice laptop for everyday use. It’s not a gamer obviously, but it will handle school and most work functions with ease. The backlit keyboard is awesome when using it in low light. Very lightweight with clear, powers up in about 15 seconds and vibrant graphics. The M.2 NVMe is upgradable to a larger one, but sadly no slot for a second M.2 drive. RAM is motherboard bound, so no upgrades there either. For the price, you get good form, function, and value, but not much in the way of upgradability.

This great-looking laptop is a value choice while still getting low weight and decent performance (SSD and I3 processor). The backlit keyboards are a lifesaver for late-night usage and a nice screen (1920 x 1080) was an appreciated touch for the primary user; my son. I like the ASUS brand generally.

I found that I can work on it w/ multiple programs running from 7 am-11 am without the charger; so a good 4 hours of battery life… one day I let it go past 11 am and ran out of battery right in the middle of working. Sure there are faster laptops, but this works for me and the price was right. it works excellent, the equipment is thin, very light, for study and medium tasks.

Category. Tip. Screen size. 15.6 is standard, but 12 to 14 inches can be more portable. Display type. Pick IPS for great viewing angles. RAM & ROM. 4GB RAM or more for multitasking with at least 512GB storage. Battery. Around 8 hours of battery life support.
The $800 to $1,000 range is where you'll find the best laptop value. This amount of money can't buy you everything, but it can buy you a laptop that's excellent in important areas. You only have to spend more if you want a gaming laptop. In that case, we recommend budgeting at least $1,500
For anyone looking for the bare computing essentials, 4GB of laptop RAM should be sufficient. If you want your PC to be able to flawlessly accomplish more demanding tasks at once, such as gaming, graphic design, and programming, you should have at least 8GB of laptop RAM.
A good processor speed is between 3.50 to 4.2 GHz, but it is more important to have a single-thread performance. In short, 3.5 to 4.2 GHz is a good speed for processor.
The cost will generally go up as you go from used to refurbished to certified but you're getting better peace of mind in return. Refurbished laptops are fine as long as you deal with a trustworthy company like Computer Revival but you're taking a chance when you buy used, especially if it's all done over the internet.
As stated in previous answers, both are equally important. The amount of RAM determines how many programs and applications you can have open at once. The processor (CPU) determines how much work the computer can do. Not having enough RAM will render you unable to run programs IF any at all.
